Bulgaria, Bulgaria, Bulgaria… All you Dj’s out there have to go play in Bulgaria because man do these people like to party & dance & have fun & it’s just a breath of fresh air to play out there! I’d been looking forward to playing for the Invader Crew for months as the last party was February, so I was really happy when this time I would get to play 2 parties on the same weekend!! Yeah!

As I now live in Ireland, this involves a lot more travelling for me, but hey it’s worth it. I left my house @ 7am, caught a bus to Dublin, then flew to London where I met my Dj partners in crime… Aaron Liberator & Guy “The Geezer” McAffer! Then we flew to Varna in Bulgaria! It was bloody freeeeeezzzzzzing when we got to Bulgaria! Just aswell I brought a warm jacket, we were picked up at the airport brought to our hotel for a quick 20min change & then straight to the club arriving at 1am!

The Comics Club in Varna is really beautiful… the funky bar has all these cool funky light boxes & then the main room is so well laid out with the Djs up on a nice stage the dance floor is the right size & also had a balcony. Dj Vladi & Ivika were warming up the crowd brilliantly with their minimal sound. The club was pretty packed when we arrived & then I was told… “You’re on in 20mins!” … I was like… oh no, not again, “where’s the toilet & can you get me a Redbull please”…now I had been travelling since 7am… until now 1am… so that’s about 16hours non stop travelling & I always like to get to a club 1 hour before I play so my ears can adjust to the sound & I can pick up the vibe & just prepare myself… so I tried my best but I felt my brain was still on the aeroplane!

The crowd were really awesome, hands in the air, lots of shouting, jumping & basically having lots of fun! I did enjoy myself but felt a little disappointed as I was tired & wanted to give more but… (but I needn’t have worried as 2days later when I got back to London & checked my emails I had a huge surprise with loads of emails from people in Varna saying how much they enjoyed my set.. I was really happy, but next time Varna get ready for an even more powerful set!! … I promise!!!)

After me it was Aaron Liberator’s turn & man did he rock it like a true Pro, next up was Geezer LIVE & the crowd went nuts! London Underground Techno at it’s best! At the end of the night Aaron & me played some final tunes just to finish off with a blast! Really good fun & the crowd danced with as much energy as they did at the start of the night… so awesome! Big huge thank you to Teodora for the really great gift she gave me… so sweet, thanks again! J and a big huge thank you to the invader boys Dany & Vladi for organising such a wicked party!

After we went back to the hotel for some sleep! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz…. Next day we met for some grub & then started our 7 hour bus journey across snowy Bulgaria to the capital of Sofia! We arrived at the Black Box Club in Sofia about 12.30am, the club was just slowly filling up, with Vladislav Rashkov again warming up the crowd with his minimal beats. It was great to see so many familiar faces again at the party as this was my 3 rd time to play in Sofia. This time I was at the club about 3 hours before my set which was really great, I had a nice time chatting to people & having my Redbull & just absorbing the atmosphere & vibe of the people. The sound was really bloody good here, I really loved it… good old funxion one sound... def the best!

I love it! …Phat & powerful strong sound!! Yeah!

Next up was Dj Ivika from Serbia & then was Dj Bengoa from Greece, both played awesome minimal sets & Vladis & Dany explained that they wanted to bring minimal sounds to warm up their Invader Parties then followed by more pumping funky to hard techno instead of hard techno all night long, which is a really great idea! J

Then it was my turn & man did I have fun! I felt totally in control & man the people… they danced so crazy & with so much energy! I had a ball! Even had them singing along to “sweet dreams” hehe… then my last tune I dropped a hard techno remix of the prodigy’s “Voodoo People” and sped it up from minus 4 to plus 6 & went out on stage & had a good old stomp with the crowd… so much fun! I even pulled one girl “Desi” out of the crowd to join the dancers on stage & man did she go for it! Haha! I’ll never forget this party… so wicked! …really!

Next up was Geezers LIVE set totally rocking again & then Aaron’s turn… he played an awesome funky to tough Acid techno set, he got the crowd in a really good groove as usual!

Unfortunately we couldn’t stay to hear BoBetz Live set as straight after Aaron’s set we had to run & catch out flight back to London, so we left the club just after 6am to catch our 8.45am flight! Now that’s Rock’n’Roll style hardcore travelling haha!

Again when I got back to London I had so many emails from people who were at the Invader Party in Sofia saying how much they enjoyed the party… I was over the moon, really, thanks so much & thanks to Desi & Gerie for my gifts & big hi to Vesko & Calin & everyone else I met who danced so hard & gave so much energy… Ye Totally Rock!!!

So I can’t wait for the next amazing INVADER party

Yahoooooooooooooooooooooo! This is gonna be one hell of a party!!!

The Invader Boys are really making something special in Bulgaria, so big Respect to them, keep doing what you’re doing guys!!
