I can easily say that I just played at the best party I’ve been to in years! When I was booked to play the Apokalypsa party, I was told it was the biggest & best techno party in Czech but it still didn’t prepare me for what I experienced! A sold out party with 5,000 amazing clubbers! Everything was top… the venue, sound, equipment, lighting, visuals, production & the Djs! All Wicked!

Sometimes it can get lonely when you’re travelling on your own all the time so it was great when DAVE the Drummer (Henry Cullen) & I were on the same flight, basically we chatted & laughed all the way on the plane. The hotel was great & best of all it was 1min walk from the venue! Henry introduced me to Pet Duo… Anna & Dave, probally one of the nicest couples I’ve met. Cool people & sooo into their music, really positive! & when you see them play together you can see the chemistry. Awesome! We all had something to eat, I got ready as I was playing before them & we headed to the venue…

When I walked into the venue I just went WOW! It was about 10.30pm & the venue was packed already! Dejan Mellicive was rocking the crowd nicely. I went back stage & got to meet the promoters Dalin & Mise and a nice surprise of meeting one of my fav producers… Wehbba from Brazil who now lives in Czech! Joris Voorn was up next on the decks & he was great! I loved his set & so did the crowd. I went for walk around the club to check it out & everyone was so into the party, there was such a great vibe. From the minute I woke up that morning I had a really good feeling about this party. The promoters had been really professional with everything, which is always a good sign & now seeing the party & feeling the vibe, I couldn’t wait to play.

After Joris’s set & before I started playing there was a 2 minute UV dance display on the stage, so the lights went down & they had their own music playing. When I started it was still in darkness & it was nice. I kept my set nice & funky & groovey & I kept building it nicely. The more I built my set, the more crazy the crowd became...! They really were so fantastic, a real joy to play to & loads of fun. It’s a real buzz to see 10,000 arms in the air cheering & smiling hehe! The monitors were top & I could hear everything crystal clear. Of course I always make mistakes in my set & during one record I was getting so into it that my head phones flew off my head & jumped the needle nearly right to the end of the track missing the best part of the track… damn! But I guess I was lucky I didn’t knock it right off the record hehe!

I played a lot of “Reaky” tracks (he’s an awesome Slovenian techno producer) & Wehbba & I finished my set with an awesome Nirvana bootleg & the place erupted! Hehe! Nice & ready for Eddie Halliwell!

Eddie played a wicked set & he totally rocked the place, I enjoyed a good dance on the dancefloor with my buddy’s Korio & South. At the end of his set everyone was shouting “Eddie, Eddie!” & he went crowd surfing. Think I’d give that a miss… I’d flatten everyone! Hehe!

Then it was Pet Duo’s turn, Dave the Drummer & lastly Killswitch, all wicked sets. The best thing is that the crowd weren’t leaving, they just didn’t want to go home! 12 hours after the party started the place was still packed with 3,000 awesome party people still dancing like crazy, shouting & screaming! And every Dj repaid them by playing their hearts out… it was so great & really refreshing to see & experience.

I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone! The promoters, for putting on such an amazing party & for being so professional with everything. The sound guy for running everything great, no dramas just fantastic sound! Zygy, my booking agent in Czech, for organising everything. The Dj’s on the night who really inspired me & lastly the fantastic crowd…

…all I can say is WOW, Czech Republic ROCKS!!!!
