BAZAR CLUB – MARSEILLE – FRANCE - SUN 21st AUGUST 2005

Last May I played at the Bazar Club in Marseille with Carl & had such a great time, so I was thrilled when Enzo the promoter wanted me to come back & play but this time I was Headlining! I couldn’t wait but I was also nervous, as when I played there before the club was rammed, as was every club on the Carl Cox France Tour & there’s always a real magic buzz at a Carl Cox party so I was worried this night would be completely different & would they like me as the main Dj?

All my worries were for nothing, there was over 700 people in the club ready to party & dance their socks off! And while Dj Ben & Dj Fab did an excellent warm up set, lots of people came over to me saying how much they enjoyed my set the last time I played & couldn’t wait to hear me play again! How nice is that? So I had myself all psyched up to give the crowd a night to remember!

The minute Dj Fab introduced me at 2am the crowd gave me a huge cheer! As I was to play a 3 hour set, I started with some wicked pumping electronic house & just kept the tunes coming one after another & building all the time into full on techno for my last hour! The crowd here are so much fun, so happy & really responsive! Cheering jumping shouting screaming & of course I was sweating… but loving every minute of it!

When 5 am came & my last tune came to an end, the crowd were still cheering & Enzo the promoter told me to keep playing till 6am if I wanted, most of the records I had left were pretty full on techno so I said COOL! And blasted off my extra hour of full on pumping techno & the hardcore surviving crowd went bezerk! It was so cool especially when half were girls & half were guys & all going crazier the harder I played!

The sound system in this club is REALLY excellent; my records were even driving me crazy as I’ve never heard them sound this good! Really wicked! So after 4 short hours it was 6am I put my last tune on & ran down onto the dance floor to have a dance with my best Marseille buddy Nathalie, while Enzo pretended to Dj! What a laugh!

I really do have a special place in my heart now for this Bazar Club & Marseille & ESPECIALLY the people, as they are so cool & so nice, they love good music & want to have as much fun & dance as much as they can.

I always wondered how dj’s can play for 4 – 8 hours as I usually just play 1 or 1.5 hours & do be so exhausted, but I honestly could have kept on playing another 2 hours easily as I was having so much fun & was so into it buzzing off the crowd, now I want to do long sets all the time.

I can’t explain how happy I felt at this party, it was so great and one of my favourite gigs so far!
