(Best of 2005 photos here...) All I can say is that I’ve have an unbelievable year, it all started fantastically in January when I got this amazing email from my hero Carl Cox asking me to go on tour with him as his warm up Dj in France in May 2005, starting with a gig at the Redbox in Dublin, Ireland then playing to 4,000 people at his 2 amazing Carl Cox & Friends parties in Paris & Strasbourg, with more gigs in Montpellier, Toulouse, Marseille & at the Cannes Film Festival!! My favourite gig was playing between Sasha & Carl @ the INOX3, Electronic Music Festival @ La Dune, Toulouse where I totally rocked the crowd & had my 2 sisters & mates in the crowd cheering me on!! I’ll never forget that, I still get goosebumps when I think of that gig! Another highlight was being invited to play with the London Underground Techno Legends Chris Liberator & DAVE the Drummer in Bulgaria. I will never forget the people at this party & how much energy they danced with all night long… Bulgarians ROCK!!! Then there was my first headlinging gig where I was invited back to play @ La Bazar, Marseille, France. I played 4hours of Electronic House & Techno & could have kept on playing & playing because I had SO MUCH FUN!! & the crowd were crazy & up for anything & didn’t want to stop dancing even though it was a Sunday night!!! Fantastic! Then my good friend Nacho organised his first free outdoor festival in London, which was a huge success & my first time playing outdoors to such a mixed crowd of locals. Making a 2 year old baby get down to my music was very funny! Going to party with my friends abroad for the first time to a 2 day camping festival at Dance Valley just outside Amsterdam, Holland was a great laugh, despite all the rain. Also going on holiday to Ibiza & checking out DC10 & Cocoon was a real eye or should I say ear & mind opener because I listened & danced to such fantastic fresh new minimal house & Techno music with Steve Bug, Loco Dice & Richie Hawtin rocking it! Being invited back to play after the No.1 Dj in world Tiesto @ the new Autumn Electronic Music Festival @ La Dune, Toulouse, France in October was an amazing achievement. The French crowd are always a pleasure to play to, very responsive & basically want to dance their socks off to good strong pumping music! French crowds ROCK!!! Yeah! Another gig I won’t forget was playing at Club Iskra, Lublin in Poland also in October. 300 people jumping up & down, dancing so strongly to my set made me so happy! I gave a lot of energy in this set & got twice as much back! And how could I forget my crazy adventure in Tunisia in December, the gig that very nearly didn’t happen but then ended up playing my longest set ever of 5hours & 15mins in an underground bar full of crazy Tunisians! And then being offered a bi monthly residency!! Also playing in Italy for the first time with my mates Animatek & Dj Gas was great fun! Finally being able to celebrate my Birthday with my very good friend Terry for the 4th year in a row with all our friends in London was a really special night! Thanks to everyone who came especially my friends Noelle & Jackie who travelled over from Ireland for the night, it was great fun! I really do have fantastic friends who have always supported me & encouraged me with my Djing from the very start. And the fantastic people who have come to party with me & dance crazy to my sets & visit my website & send me lovely encouraging emails! To my great friend Chris Vezey who has helped me so much designing & maintaining my very cool website!!! You’re a sweetheart Chris! |
